4月28日 Muslim Sobriety TestCheck out the video i made of BK and HS from the MAS Qiyam way back in Ramadan. 4月21日 THE PULSE POWER PROJECTTHE PULSE POWER PROJECT has begun! Imagine millions of non-Muslims taking the time out of their busy lives to read about the message of Islam. That's like buying time for an Islamic commercial during the Super Bowl!
We have put a Qur'an on eBay and, in the item description, we have provided a brief explanation of the basic principles of Islam. Our mission is to get this Qur'an onto eBay Pulse, which is a website that lists the most heavily watched items on eBay ( http://pulse.ebay.com). Thousands upon thousands of non-Muslims regularly view this site to check out the latest items. These items often make the news! If we get the Qur'an onto eBay Pulse, all those non-Muslims will read the item description and learn about Islam. Imagine, if someone becomes Muslim from this we'll ALL get rewarded, in sha Allah! If you're down with the project, all you need to do is: 1. Quickly register for an eBay account if you don't already have one (it's free and you don't need a credit card). Just go to http://www.ebay.com and click on "register". It's easy! The faster we do this, the faster it will get onto eBay Pulse! If we get about 1,000 Muslims watching the item within a week (and it is very possible!), it should easily get us onto eBay Pulse, in sha Allah! We may even make the news! If we make any money off this it will be given to Islamic Relief, in sha Allah. Guys, this is da'wah without even having to approach the non-Muslims. They'll read it on their own and maybe become Muslim, in sha Allah! And every Muslim in the world with an internet connection can participate and get some of the reward! So spread the word all over the globe! Jazaakum Allahu khairan for participating! -The Pulse Power Team 4月19日 TABULI PARTY!
Rawacha and I have decided to have a TABULI PARTY! We will make lots and lots of tabuli and thats all we will eat all night. If you don't like tabuli, then your not invited. And sucks to be you! Were not sure exactly when this will go down, but be prepared. 4月18日 Boston Update FINALLY!ya ya ya...i've been lazy since i got back. Anyway boston was awesome. Well before we got to boston we prayed jummah with the MSA at Brown University and chilled with their Muslim Chaplain and his wife. They were really cool mashaAllah. We got to the MAS Youth Central Annual Meeting friday night. Boston traffic is horrible! Boston is an awesome city! We didn't get to see much of anything though. We drove through downtown on the way to the airport trying to find Harvard for Huda but Nazeef and Hazim arn't too great with maps. The 3 of us did better without them :P Nazeef got so fed up with Huda that she was threatened with a boot ending up on her forehead. The meeting itself was really great. Got to meet a lot of cool people and learned lots of stuff. Oh and best of all got to see SOONDUS! Watch out people...she pinches like Rawa! Man those Iraqias!
(and i started this like 4 days ago but got busy so i'm not THAT lazy)
i forgot what else i was gonna say and i have to finish my speech. so enjoy.
oh ya and here is the new link for ALL the pics. ask me for the password...its not the same as the others.
4月7日 Greetings from the Ocean State!Salaamz!!!!
Me AF and HS have alhumduilah reached safely to the state of Rhode Island. We got here yesterday around 5 local time. We rented a car and headed to our hotel in West Greenwich. Its really cute on this little hill kinda in a forest. After we settled into the hotel we were determined to find some local place to eat some good seafood (well actually only AF really wanted seafood, i got chicken and HS played it safe with shrimp :P )
So anyway we drove to the Island of Newport which is beautiful mashaAllah. As soon as we saw the first bridge we had to cross over we went picture happy. After driving around for a while, we finally stopped and walked into some resaurant on the pier. Then walked out. It was a little too pricy for our taste :) So we drove back around and stopped at this super cute little placed called Pronto. It too was pretty fancy but we decided to stay anyway. After a yummy meal we walked around the city in the freezing cold. We found this cute music store that had a bunch of toys from the good ol days. Then we made our way back to the hotel after making a few U-turns, and blasting "Barbie Girl".
PICS ARE UP!

By Elizabeth Sandoval
I don't want to have sex. Clarification: I do want to have sex, but only with my husband. And I don't have one of those yet.
No, I am not an ultraconservative who is cohabitating with a houseful of cats and TiVo'ing Lifetime movies. I'm a middle-of-the-road 32-year-old who likes tattoos and loud music. And yes, I am cute (I've been told by friends and strangers alike). So you can put aside the notion that I'm bitter about not being offered the chance to have sex. What I am is a neo-feminist. Definition: "One who respects her body so much that she won't allow it to be used as someone's playground." Handsome Man at a Bar, you think I'm cute? Thanks. Do you appreciate me or the idea of having sex with me? Because your thinking has likely been influenced by the cavortings of Samantha and Co. in the "city" or the women in most rap videos. I am not those women. If you want a workout, go get a one-day pass at Bally. It's free. Members of the "Sex is Natural and Fun and If It Makes You Happy, It Can't Be That Bad" club want sex so badly that they willingly and repeatedly live out the following scenario: Things go "great" for a month or two. Sex quickly becomes a part of your interactions. Maybe he even meets your parents. And then, well, things just change. He dumps you or you dump him. Regardless of why the relationship died, you are now one of many women whom he could point out on the street. "See her?" he can tell his buddies. "She's cute, huh? Yeah, I had her." I never want to be "her." The "You Have to Know if You're Sexually Compatible or the Marriage Will Be Doomed" club will argue that one out of two marriages end in divorce, so you have to know that you're sexually compatible before you can even contemplate marriage. Well, maybe one out of two marriages end in divorce precisely because people are too free with sex. Many people don't take time to establish real communication with one another. It's false intimacy. Many women today are weak-minded in that they readily accept society's portrayal of sexual norms. The people on The O.C. are doing it. Paris Hilton, as she's hosing down that Bentley, appears ready to do it. And more important, many people they actually know are doing it. The sheer prolificness of sex seems to make the decision for them. Women are non-self-respecting because they willingly sacrifice such an important part of their being for just a few moments of pleasure. And they're oblivious because they don't contemplate the profoundness of sex. Women give it up as if it's nothing. When in fact, it is everything. 4月2日 Defying AuthorityAttention Masjid Omar! On the afternoon of April 2nd, 2006 at approximately 4:45 PM, two unidentified hijabis ventured into the "brothers section" of the Musala. Right now, it is unclear as to what their motives were. But they can be seen below posing for pictures on the mimbar and in the Imam's prayer spot. May Allah guide them. (back to the sister's area)
![]() 3月26日 No laying down!Noreen, Poly, and I were all chillin upstairs in the masjid today after
asr. We were all really tired so we were laying down. This
little desi girl comes up and starts talking...we didn't understand
half the stuff she said. So anyway Noreen moves to the other side
of Poly and the little girl is like where did you come from?
Noreen says that she was laying down over there. Then the girl
gets up with this surprised look and says "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!! My dad
prays like this and says Allahu Akbar" It was sooo cute
mashaAllah. But it gets better. She then goes down stairs
and then we get up to leave also. As were walking down the
stairs, we hear her telling her dad that some girl was laying down
upstairs!! This uncle is like what the heck and sounded like he
was scolding her....aww poor girl. Alhumduilah we didn't see or
and he didn't see us :) 3月23日 Give me some BAQLAWA!In my public speaking class, i did a cultural artifact speech on baklava. so i decided to post my recipe here.
INGREDIENTS: 3 cups chopped walnuts 1/2 cup sugar ½ teaspoon cinnamon 1 lb butter 1 package, or 16 oz. frozen filo (phyllo) dough, thawed according to package directions Syrup Recipe 2 cups sugar 1 cup water Few drops lemon juice 1 teaspoon rosewater or orange blossom water PREPARATION: Prepare Syrup First Combine 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water and lemon juice, in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes. Add rosewater and boil for another minute. Remove from heat, and allow to cool. Preparing Dough and Filling Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix the 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon with the nuts in a bowl. Butter the bottom of a jellyroll pan. Unroll dough place half of the sheets on the bottom. Spread the nut mixture over the dough, and place the remaining sheets on top. (this is the easy way, if you want you can make mulitple layers) Cut into squares or triangles, whatever size you like. Spoon the melted butter all over the top, making sure to saturate all the dough. Bake for about 30-45 min or until golden brown. Remove from oven and pour the cool syrup over top of baklava and allow to seep and saturate it well. Let cool, and enjoy! 3月21日 Huda on a Bad DayThis is what she looks like when she gets mad at me. ![]() once again....courtesy of noreeni :) Huda's Senior PictureAlhumduilah she has changed a lot since college. ![]() (picture courtesy of noreeeeeeeeeen) 3月15日 Green
You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!

3月6日 Procrastination = root of all evilPMIS CHAMPIONS!!!!Saturday was the Boys and Girls Club Basketball Tournament. The PMIS Team one 1st Place mashaAllah! They played an awesome game. I only got to watch the last game because of Tempe Cares. The first game they played, they really had to work hard. They had slaughtered the team previously and came into this game a little cocky. The other team was winning most of the game, but they pulled together for a win. The last team they had to play, they lost to them the first time, but they beat them friday night. It was a pretty close game. They started out with about a 10 point lead in the first quarter. Then the other team caught up and it was neck and neck the whole time. It was tied at the half. Poor Samer was out with a foot injury. But he cheered his team on from the bench. The rest of the team did an awesome job. Hamza got some nice shots in to bring them into a 6 point lead towars the end of the 4th quarter. The rest was history!
